Test your Schwarzenegger

this is a pressure sensor hooked up to arduino and how much pressure you squeeze reveals what arnold quote or movie represents you. you might be a kindergarten cop, jingle all the way, junior, or even as macho as running man predator or the terminator. each one equally as ridiculous.

ball'n

what is more ballin than a chain blasted with diamonds? well here is an attempt at makin something just a bit more ballin. this is just a prototype but i gathers up to date stock market information and puts it into a text file. the text file is relayed to this led belt buckle modified and run through an arduino micro-controller. the code is mostly a mash up of other libraries. In essence diamonds display wealth because diamonds hold value well but diamonds never gain value at the same rate stocks do. i am hoping to be able to come out with this in giant gold chain form and brass knuckle form but this is only the beginning.

SMS for OWS

been working a submission for LIMN for croudsource projects. this one a friend tested at zuccotti park for a wall of projections gathered from text messages sent to his phone. the questions was why are you here. it seemed although there was a very mixed message the common threads brought together some very interesting results. love was on of the top used words with 80 sms containing it. others tops included solidarity, revolution, money, support jobs and future although they are taken out of context here i think you get the idea.

here is a link for documentations sake http://a.parsons.edu/~mcfab489/blog/portfolio/index.html

So my room mate and I were having coffee and reading the LA Times when we came across this article on the front page.

There are many reasons this article bothers me, but never has a pie graph been more apropos and they went with a linear graph. Shame on you LA Times.

The article continues on A17 full of pie puns and bogus claims on pie trends for the future. Joe's parents owned the Corner Cafe in Warrensburg Missouri known for its pecan pie among many and he said that not once in the 25 yrs they were open, did they ever get a call from a pie consulting firm inquiring of the average pie consumption, and according to the article the Ozarks is pie country.

The front page also featured an article on the desert.(too much)
